AIM Spotlight: Meet Chrissy Malukiewicz

Stepping into the AIM Spotlight this month, is Chrissy Malukiewicz, one of our Senior Account Managers and an expert in the travel and hospitality vertical.

Chrissy leveraged her background and education in the travel vertical to launch her affiliate marketing career in 2007 at The Mark Travel Corporation, working with well-known brands Southwest Vacations, United Vacations, and Funjet Vacations. Her strong organizational & communication skills, penchant for relationship building, and interest in the ever changing world of online technology, have contributed to her passion, love and success with the affiliate marketing channel. Chrissy is a Florida native and when she is not working she can be found hanging out with her two young boys.

 

We had a little chat with Chrissy to learn more about her and here’s what she had to say:

 

Q: You are a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

CM: Orange! It’s bright, cheery, and brings energy to any canvas.

 

Q: If you were a super hero (and we know you are), what would your super power be?

 

CM: I would be the super hero of positivity and enthusiasm.  I direct my energy by looking at situations with an optimistic view. I am that half-glass full type girl. Everything in life has a positive side to it.  You just need to find it.  It may take a day, or it may take a year, but there is always one, I promise you.

 

Q: Your favourite Inspirational Quote

CM: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” —Maya Angelou
Life is about influencing others and having your kids follow in your footsteps. With two young boys, it’s imperative for them to identify with how their actions affect others and how wonderful the feeling is when a simple small gesture can make someone’s day.

 

Q: Name one thing about your job that inspires you to keep working at AIM and gets you out of bed in the morning?

CM: Hands down, it’s my colleagues. I work with some amazing bright individuals some of which have a fabulous sense of humor (I won’t name any names Jon and Stephen). And most importantly they  make everyday something to look forward to.

 

Q: How or Why did you become an Affiliate Marketing expert?

CM: Wow, great question. It’s hard to believe it’s been 11 years since I started in this field.  I was looking for something new and innovative and at the time affiliate marketing was a new venture while at Southwest Airlines Vacations.  I applied for the position and luckily was chosen to run the affiliate marketing channel for The Mark Travel Corporation.

 

Q: Tell us about your greatest achievement in your career, so far.

CM: My greatest achievement was growing a multi-million dollar program by 48% YOY.

 

What are the three key trends for Affiliate/Performance Marketing in 2018?

1) Global Markets – we are going to see more International growth and expansion
2) Network/Platform enhancements – Tech platforms and affiliate networks will continue to open up data to enable clients to work together more efficiently and provide more transparency.
3) Influencer Marketing – More brands are coming online with influencer marketing programs

 

Q: What is your biggest professional challenge?

CM: Public speaking.  I do it, but I don’t like to do it.

 

Q: What is the one piece of advice you can offer a budding Affiliate Marketer?

CM: Be resourceful, creative and don’t be afraid to test your ideas. If you first don’t succeed try, try again.
