AIM New Hire Interview

Welcome to the AIM Family – Jennifer Payne

Please join me in welcoming our newest Senior Account Manager, Jennifer, to the team!

Jennifer comes to us from the intense world of startups – ranging from the angel investor stage to taking a company public. With a strong background in B2B sales, business development, and more recently, working the last 3 years with affiliate marketers from the publisher role, Jennifer brings a fresh perspective with a wide range of experience, aptitude for growth, and passion to the performance marketing world.

Let’s check in with Jennifer and see how she’s doing in her new role at AIM.

Question: What inspired you to join AIM?

Answer: From an industry perspective, I’d been working with affiliate marketing agencies for the past three years. Coincidentally, I came across the opportunity with AIM and I thought it’d be great to contribute from a different perspective. Fortunately, the feeling was mutual!  However, what really drove me to AIM was the personal commitment I made to myself that the next company I joined would have a culture with heart. Now that I’m here, seeing all the green hearts is a daily inspiration!

Question: Which of AIM’s Core Values (Delight, Innovate, Grow, and Giveback) aligns most with your own?

Answer: From a personal perspective, hands down Giveback, but in turn giving back always delights me. It’s a living standard in our house; from homeless packages, we keep in the cars so we can give it to someone in need, to our monthly Operation Donut Drop where we drop off donuts to firehouses, police stations, senior homes, or the like. Holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving always include giving. And, I must include our daughter volunteering to do piano recitals for the senior homes. In fact, she deserves most of the credit for either directly coming up with the ideas or inspiring them.

From a professional perspective, my tech startup background would dictate the value of Innovate, which is a critical component of growth. Overall, personally and professionally, I feel in sync with all of AIM’s core values and it only further echoes my reasoning for joining AIM.

Question: Now that you’re done with orientation, what was your first impression of AIM?

Answer: Wow, an “onboarding process”?! It’s been years since I joined a company with more than 10 employees. I was in awe of the time everyone took for the meet and greets, the resources and tools that were offered, and the overall impressiveness of such a dynamic team that I’m grateful to be a part of it.

Question: What aspect of your job excites you most? Why?

Answer: Bringing value from a different perspective to both the company as well as the clients.  In the spirit of ‘Innovate’ and ‘Grow’, a diverse approach will give sustainability to a company’s innovation and growth, and being a part of that is exciting!

Question: Now that you’re a little more settled, do you have a goal for the next 30 days for yourself in your new role?

Answer: I’d love to accomplish in some way, Delighting my team or client, Innovate with a new ‘win’, Grow my value here, Giveback on behalf of AIM, or at the very least, check off the rest of the “First 90 days at AIM”.
